Drying out, predator problem

We’re learning a lot.  I’ve never owned  a vehicle that runs off of propane before, but heed my warning – they don’t start on cold days.

Birds continue to be active despite cold and rainy weather.  Managed to snap a few shots of the Golden Swallow to get us rolling, but I promise better ones to come!

Rats are going to be a problem.  We are considering trapping as well as more box placement on poles – allowing us to use more effective predator guards.

I believe that box design and placement is going to be absolutely critical for this species.  Most of our traditional Golo-style boxes are allowing in too much moisture.  Nests and box interiors are saturated almost on a daily basis.  Lots to ponder.
